Seriously spam merchants, I have a contact form for actual contact purposes. Only a couple of weeks ago, I had someone use it to contact me to tell me she’d found my wallet, which I had been tearing my hair out trying to find. (Thanks Donna and Michael! )
There is a message on the contact page which quite explicitly explains that I do not appreciate it being used for spam, and that I do not want to be “cold-called” by people offering to send traffic to my site or to improve my web presence. If I wanted these services, I would look for them myself; you’re not going to get business from me if you just spam me with a copy-paste email.
Spam that does get sent to me using my contact form gets pasted on the contact page, sometimes with annotations by myself. I really hate to press the issue, but it has to be maintained that I DO NOT WANT SPAM THROUGH MY CONTACT FORM.
There is nothing more annoying than waking up to an email, basically pressuring you into buying services that you neither want nor need. The reason I am writing this post today is because someone had the nerve to send my a spam message using my contact form, offering me business for the wrong website, telling me that they can get me targeted US traffic (I live and work in the UK) and that they can drive traffic to my Instagram and Youtube (I use neither). He even had the nerve to apologise for using my contact form! Needless to say, that the email will be going on the wall of shame forthwith, so feel free to go and peruse it, and other spam I have received (all pretty much the same rubbish, to be honest), on my contact page.
Thanks for reading.
